LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Some people enjoyed the long weekend Monday by getting outside for the annual Hike, Bike and Paddle in downtown Louisville.
The event started in the morning with free fitness activities at Waterfront Park. Hikers then set out from the Great Lawn and followed a four-mile route along the Ohio River.
Cyclists traveled through downtown on a guided ride through the city. Some early riders received a free helmet.
The city canceled the paddle portion this year because of rising water levels on the Ohio River.
The annual event encourages families to get outside during Memorial Day weekend.
