Hundreds of Sanders supports protest 'unfair' system at DNC

PHILADELPHIA (WDRB) -- Bernie Sanders protesters turned the Democratic National Convention upside down Tuesday night.

Hundreds of people walked out of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and right inside with the working media at the Democratic National Convention.

They carried signs for Sanders and others that read, "no justice no peace."

Protesters sat on the floor and held hands, upset with the DNC.

They covered their mouths with tape, and written on it were the words, "democracy silenced."

"We feel the system has been unfair," said a protester from North Dakota.

"We have been silenced by the DNC this entire convention," said Netra Halperin, a protester from Hawaii. "We feel like our voice has been muffled and shut."

Police soon arrived, and no one was allowed inside or out.

More protesters were outside the media tent, putting signs to the windows like "No TPP," which stands for the Trans Pacific Partnership. They wanted the media to see their message.

"We are showing our lack of confidence In the Democratic nominee," said a California delegate who was among the protesters. "We think she is the weaker candidate. We think this is a risk to the nation. We think it is the risk of putting Donald Trump in the White House by choosing this nominee."

"We no longer will take the status quo," said Tamborine Borrelli, a protester from Washington. "We longer will have it pushed down our throats."
