LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky woman won a blue ribbon at the state fair for her 2-year labor of love.
Kim Shumate's quilt is covered with multi-covered hearts. The quilt has 1,080 squares and each square contains 11 pieces.
"I wanted to cry," she said. "I still want to cry and probably will when I go home. It's the most exciting thing that's ever happened to me."
She said she was proud to have her family's support during the project and is grateful to even have the opportunity to stitch.
