LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Indiana American Water is investing almost $97 million to replace lead lines across the state.

Since the plan was approved in 2018, the company said it has replaced or removed 54% of the lead service lines.

"We are committed to doing our part to get the lead out of Indiana, once and for all," Indiana American Water President Matt Prine said.

Indiana American Water said even if your service lines contain lead, it doesn't mean the water does.

The company routinely takes water samples to test for lead, and has recently started a lead education program for customers.
