LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The body of a North Vernon, Indiana man was recovered from Crosley Lake early Friday morning after he drowned.

Indiana Conservation Officers with the Department of Natural Resources said around 9 p.m., 20-year-old Christopher Allman was trying to back a pickup truck down the boat ramp at Crosley Lake in Jennings County.

The truck went into the water and traveled about 100 feet from the ramp. Allman and a passenger in the truck got out and tried to swim back to shore.

The passenger made it back safely, but Allman went under water and did not resurface, the DNR said.

Allman's body was found just after 1 a.m.

Indiana Conservation Officers are still investigating the drowning.
