LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Rapper and Louisville native Jack Harlow shared his love of reading by giving away free books at Carmichael's Bookstore on Bardstown Road.
Hundreds of fans wrapped around several blocks in the heat to get a chance to meet him. Fans could pick any book they wanted, up to $50, thanks to the Jack Harlow Foundation.
"I know how valuable it was for me growing up to read. It was a big contributor to my passion for writing and creating, so passing that along to the younger generation and encouraging them to escape into a book is big to me," Harlow told WDRB.
The rapper performed at Paristown Hall Saturday night as part of his Monica Tour. He has another performance Monday night at the venue.
"I know I can always come back here and spread love and receive love. It's so comforting. So I keep coming back."
