LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky Educational Television says it has had to reduce it's workforce by 22%.

On Wednesday, KET said 15 staff members lost their jobs and another 21 positions were eliminated because of the elimination of federal funding for public broadcasting.

"It is a sad but unavoidable situation for our dedicated team, and the loss will affect operations throughout the agency," Shae Hopkins, the Executive Director and CEO, said. "However, KET remains as committed as ever to serving Kentuckians across the Commonwealth.”

The company braced for budget cuts by holding positions vacant and implementing cost-saving measures.
