Kim Davis will return to work Monday, lawyers say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Kim Davis will be back at work Monday, according to a release from the Liberty Counsel.

Attorneys for Davis say the controversial county clerk has been spending time with her family at home, reading letters sent to her while she was in jail.

"I am deeply moved by all those who prayed for me,” Davis said. “All I can say is that I am amazed and very grateful.”

Davis released a statement, which read:

I am overwhelmed that people took the time out of their busy lives to write and tell me that they are standing with me. Every letter has been kind and encouraging. I am heartened that God's people are not huddled up in a corner, but they are standing strong. Standing begins on our knees. I have no doubt that God answers prayer. God is so real to me. He has transformed my life.

According to the release, Davis will spend time with her family this week and return to work on Monday.

She was released from the Carter County Jail Tuesday after federal judge David Bunning signed an order allowing her to be released, given she does not interfere with the issuance of marriage licenses by her office.
