LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky students have a chance to turn their artwork into a public safety message.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is hosting the third annual Paint the Plow program, which invites high school students to paint snow plows to promote safe driving during the winter season.

Kentucky high schools are invited to submit an application expressing interest by Sept. 12. Designs must focus on road safety, winter weather or school/Kentucky spirit.

A KYTC representative will follow up with the schools and give details on how to submit the designs by the Sept. 26 deadline. Schools with approved designs will have a plow blade delivered to the school by Oct. 3. The painted plows will be picked up no later than Nov. 7.
