LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet held a public meeting Thursday evening in an effort to figure out how to better connect northwest Louisville with the rest of the city.

The agency said the problem areas include neighborhoods south of Interstate 64 that are somewhat cut off from the areas around the river.

The interstate, railroad lines, floodwalls and other infrastructure limit direct access to the river. Transportation officials are now trying to figure out a way to fix the problem.

There are 24 different potential projects KYTC has laid out for what they say will be a massive undertaking.

The goal of Thursday's meeting was to get opinions from the public. A survey is also live online for residents and neighbors to submit feedback.
