LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Drivers who use Interstate 65 North between the Gene Snyder Freeway and Fern Valley Road will need to make plans to take an alternate route starting Friday night.Â
All four lanes of I-65 North in that area will be closed starting at 8 p.m. They are expected to reopen by 7 p.m. Sunday.Â
Traffic will still be able to get through by taking the two lanes that lead up to the Fern Valley Road exit. Drivers will then merge back onto I-65.
Lane shifts and reductions will begin just past the I-265/KY 841 interchange at mile point 125.6.Â
In preparation for the lane closures, alternating lane closures on the collector-distributor lanes will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Motorists should expect traffic shifts, obey lane restrictions and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
The closures will allow crews to repair concrete slabs.
