LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — More lane restrictions on the Sherman Minton Bridge are coming later this month.
Interstate 64 westbound, the top deck, will be down to one lane as crews finish painting work from Friday, Oct. 25 from 9 p.m. until Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 26 from 9 p.m. until Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m.
The left most westbound lane will be open, and access to the ramps will remain. The eastbound lanes on I-64 will be open.Â
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.
The ongoing construction is part of the Sherman Minton Renewal Project, which involves painting and rehabilitating the 61-year-old bridge. The project is anticipated to give the six-lane, double-decked span up to 30 more years of life.
The project is expected to be complete by mid-November.
