LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The City of Jeffersontown is all aglow as a time honored tradition lit up the night sky.

People in Jeffersontown pack Watterson Trail every year. Some people told WDRB News it's a little bit like a Hallmark movie. For more than a decade, downtown Jeffersontown has hosted hundreds of families.

"Other than the cold, it's really fun, having a great time and we loved it," Grace Lamkin said.

Lamkin brought her daughter to the Light Up event Sunday night.

"I love it," Emma Lampkin said.

Emma couldn't stop smiling at Santa. This is the first year with the Santa station.

"This is actually a really good year. It's done up really nice. It's really pretty," Ronda Muth said.

Toddlers also took pictures with the reindeer, waited in line for a free carriage ride, and watched carolers beneath the Christmas tree.

"And you can tell that he is enjoying the view and he loves to take pictures and be in the camera," Valentina Seelbach said. "We just want to wish everyone Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, spend this time with your family and friends. Enjoy this time."

As the sun went down, music and magic turned Jeffersontown into a winter wonderland.

"We liked it. We liked it a lot," Doug Seelbach said. "They both got to meet Santa Claus."

"It's my favorite time of the year, so I'm just super excited. It's here," Lamkin said.
