LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting Tuesday night in southwest Louisville.
LMPD was called to an apartment complex on Saddlebrook Lane near Rockford Lane and Cane Run Road about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said Robert Arnold, 29, died at the scene. LMPD said it appears the shooting happened outside. The coroner's office doesn't list Arnold's address as the apartment complex.
Police spent the overnight and morning hours looking for evidence and talking to neighbors, but so far, there are no suspects.
Nearby neighbors say the shooting itself didn't surprise or scare them - until they found out someone died and the shooter is still on the run.
"You hear loud fighting and gunshots. You know Thunder over Louisville or New Year's Eve, they're all out having fun and stuff. So I didn't think twice about it, so it just kind of got me shocked," said Tiffany Anderson.
LMPD said it's very early in the investigation, and the department doesn't have a lot to go on. An LMPD spokesperson said they are counting on the public to come forward with information.
Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 574-LMPD. Callers can remain anonymous.
