LORETTO, Ky. (WDRB) -- Paul Ruley, a Loretto man who was well-known for creating festive Christmas displays using more than a million holiday lights, has died.

A dispatcher with Lebanon Police tells WDRB Ruley died following an accident on Thursday morning. It happened around 10:15 a.m.

Officials say he was working on his dairy farm when he was accidentally run over by a piece of equipment.

Ruley was well-known for creating Ruley's Santa Land, a Christmas display that attracted thousands of people each year. The attraction used more than a million holiday lights and covered four acres.
