LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville animal hospital is looking for blood donors — both two-legged and four-legged.
Jefferson Animal Hospital will hold its third annual "Pints for Paws & People" event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at the hospital on Outer Loop.
The event will focus on the hospital's Pet Blood Bank program and give pet owners information about how their dogs and cats can become blood donors.
The hospital is hoping to collect 700 blood donations.
Pets won't donate blood during the event, but Jefferson Animal Hospital staff will explain how pets can be screened to become donors.
The American Red Cross will also be there for people who want to give blood.
The event is family-friendly and will include information about the role blood donations play in helping pets and people in need.
