LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Ā Louisville Roman Catholic Archbishop Joseph Kurtz is back from the Philippines, and he says he has been humbled by the experience.
Kurtz recently visited the devastated areas from the November typhoon with other bishops and Catholic Relief Services. He surveyed the damage while he was there in Taclobon City. Kurtz says he was greeted with warmth from the Filipino people.
Eight churches were damage from the super storm.
Kurtz celebrated mass in one of the churches that had its roof blown away by the storm.
