LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville family was displaced Thursday after an electrical fire in the city's Wilder Park neighborhood.
The Louisville Fire Department responded to the reported fire in the 4400 block of South First Street at 2:42 p.m., according to LFD Spokesperson Donovan Sims.
Responding crews were on scene within four minutes and found a working fire, with flames visible from a rear window on the first floor.
Crews were able to quickly get the fire under control by 2:55 p.m. Sims said it was confined to one room, with smoke damage on the second floor of the home. Investigators determined the fire was electrical.
No injuries were reported. Sims said 28 firefighters, four engines, two trucks and one battalion responded to the fire.
A family of five was displaced because of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting them.
