Fire 3000 block of River Park Drive

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A home in Louisville's Russell neighborhood was heavily damaged by a fire early Friday morning.

According to LFD Captain Donovan Sims, firefighters responded to a home in the 3000 block of River Park Drive around 1:30 a.m. on reports of a fire and a possible shooting.

LMPD officers first confirmed there was no shooting at the scene, and firefighters located heavy fire at the rear of the two-story home.

Firefighters searched the home and did not find any occupants inside.

Sims said the fire was brought under control in under 20 minutes with 25 firefighters on scene. No injuries were reported.

Louisville Metro Arson is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
