LOUISVIILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- Louisville health official said follow-up inspections at several Kroger stores showed "great improvements" weeks after reports of mice were made earlier this summer.
The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness said it's been several weeks since the last complaint was made. Earlier this month, inspectors visited the store on Westport Road after receiving a complaint about mouse droppings and chewed-through products. That came about a week after a live mouse was found at the store on Brownsboro Road, near Interstate 265, along with mice droppings and some chewed-through product.
Previously, droppings and evidence of an infestation were found at the Goss Avenue and La Grange Road locations.
Health officials said they're still doing weekly follow-up inspections at Goss Avenue, La Grange Road and Westport Road Kroger locations and there have been "great improvements."
Kroger hasn't responded to recent requests for comment, just saying it's continuing to work with the health department to resolve the issues. Health inspectors said they've received about 200 complaints about Louisville grocery stores, and about 60 of those were from Kroger stores.
Health inspectors said about 20 of those complaints were rodent issues. You can see the results of the latest inspections at every grocery store in Louisville in the graphic below.
