LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville officials held a community engagement meeting Tuesday evening in an effort to get resources to people who need help with Section 8 housing.
It was held at the South Central Regional Library in partnership with Louisville Metro Housing Authority and Metro Council members.
The goal was to get both tenants and landlords the information they need to get housing vouchers, or maintain Section 8 properties.
Organizers said these events make a huge impact on people's lives.
"What we're trying to do is put a new face on Section 8, and help people understand we are very much a part of the community and we are part of the solution that allows people to get housing, so we want to be in the community, we want people to see us, we want people to feel comfortable to ask those questions," said Camille Robinson, deputy director of leased housing at LMHA.
More than 10,000 households get federal rental assistance through LMHA.
