LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is set to be sentenced this afternoon on murder and burglary charges in Meade County, Ky.

Police say 43-year old Jeffery Lay admitted to shooting and killing 53-year old Danny Embry in Sept. 2010.

LMPD officers say Lay broke into Embry's home looking for money and jewelry and shot Embry.

According to Embry's sister, Lay took a plea deal to avoid going to trial.

Lay has a lengthy criminal record that dates back to 1985.
