LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing 40 charges in connection with child pornography, according to an arrest report.
Kentucky State Police say they executed a search warrant at 33-year-old Fernando Maldonado's home on Whisp Brook Circle near the interchange between I-65 and the Gene Snyder Freeway. This happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday.
Police say they requested and received the search warrant as part of an undercover online investigation into computer files depicting the sexual exploitation of children.
According to the arrest report, police discovered that 92 computer files related to the sexual exploitation of children were distributed from the IP address affiliated with a computer at Maldonado's home.
Police add that there was evidence that computer files related to the sexual exploitation of children had been recently deleted from a thumb drive that was plugged into a Playstation console at that location.
Maldonado was arrested and faces 20 counts of possessing matter portraying the sexual performance of a minor and 20 counts of distributing matter portraying the sexual performance of a minor.
He faced a judge Friday morning for arraignment. He shook his head as the charges were read to him. The judge entered a plea of "not guilty" and assigned a public defender to represent him. His bond was set at $10,000, and he was ordered not to have any contact with any children.
