LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville police are investigating after an infant died Thursday.

Officers were called to help EMS around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of West Market Street near the Russell neighborhood for an unresponsive two-month-old infant, Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson officer Adam Sears said.

EMS transported the infant to Norton Children's Hospital where the baby died. 

LMPD's Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation. No additional details were immediately available.
