LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With Black Friday and Cyber Monday now over, many people are expecting their packages to arrive. But some are dealing with porch pirates.
Porch pirates are people who steal or destroy a person's packages off their front porch.
"I had a package that got stolen, like, literally one minute after the FedEx driver dropped it off," said Brandon Bias, a victim of a porch pirate. "They had to have been tailing the truck for it to be that fast."

Video from Bias' security camera shows a man in a camouflaged jacket swipe a package from his front steps and run back into a red car parked out front.
"Yeah, he had a getaway driver," Bias said.
WDRB News blurred the man's face because police have not yet identified him as a suspect.
In 2022, Gov. Andy Beshear signed a law that makes stealing a package off of someone's residence a felony in Kentucky.
Louisville Metro Police offered some tips to prevent porch pirates from getting your packages this holiday season:
- Track your packages in real-time or schedule a drop-off time
- Require a signature to receive packages
- Consider sending packages to a locker system like UPS, Amazon, or FedEx systems
- Purchase a “lock box” for packages, the box locks once the package is put inside
- Utilize video surveillance
But Bias isn't too confident that cameras prevent theft.
"I don't think the cameras are deterring anyone," he said.
Now, Bias is just hoping he can still get his package replaced for the same price.
"It was Black Friday deal too, so I'm hoping I can get that replaced otherwise I don't think I'm going to get that deal again," he said.
