LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LouisvilleKY.gov finished in second place in the Best of the Web Awards conducted by the Center for Digital Government.
The city's site was completely overhauled at the end of last year in an effort to move toward a clean design and easy to find services.
The website was honored partly for being easily accessible on both smartphones and tablets.
"You all have heard me say many times before how our departments are challenged to be the best in the nation in what they do," Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said. "We're not just about breakthrough improvement, but continuous improvement as well. And we do that because we want our citizens to be able to think, hey, we have the best city government in the world."
Louisville entered the Best of the Web competition 13 times, landing in the top four every time.
