LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville man who founded the Veteran's Club was released from a halfway house Tuesday, to serve the remainder of his federal sentence on home incarceration and probation.Â
Jeremy Harrell was released June 3 from a Lexington halfway house where he was serving a six-month sentence after he was convicted of theft of government benefits.
A federal jury in Frankfort convicted Harrell of theft of government benefits last August after he received more than $100,000 in unemployment benefits that he wasn't eligible to receive.
Prosecutors said "evidence confirmed that Harrell, as the active and successful founder and CEO of Veteran's Club, could maintain substantial gainful employment," leaving him ineligible for the benefits he received between 2019-23.
Savannah Chrisley from the reality show "Chrisley Knows Best" took to social media after Harrell's release, saying that Harrell was scheduled to be released nine days earlier, but "an abuse of power" kept him trapped.
Today, I watched a man walk out of prison and into the arms of his family — exactly where he belonged.

"When the halfway house tried to keep him one more day because of media presence — we pushed back," she wrote. "We stood in that building and made it clear: we’re not leaving without him. And by the grace of God and the courage of a few good people, Jeremy walked out a free man."
Chrisley said she wants an investigation into the halfway house where Harrell was held. Chrisley was vocal in getting her parents released from prison -- who were recently pardoned by President Trump.
Harrell told WLEX-TV he is hopeful President Trump will pardon him.
Derek Myers of a group called "Pardon 47" told WDRB News "a presidential pardon is possible."
