LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Water Company made a $250,000 donation to help customers struggling to pay their bill.

The Board of Water Works approved the donation Tuesday. That money will go to Drops of Kindness and the customer assistance program run by the Louisville Water Company and the Metropolitan Sewer District..

Last year, the foundation donated $400,000 to organizations in three counties, which helped more than 800 customers.

The funding comes from donations from Louisville Water, MSD, businesses, organizations and the public.
