LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is charged with murder for allegedly killing a woman and dumping her body in the Ohio River.
A woman's body was found Tuesday morning near Louisville's Cox Park.
Louisville Metro Police said 57-year-old Anthony Nichols shot Arica Brown in the head, killing her. Police said Nichols spoke to Brown's kids after he shot their mom, telling them he did it.
In an arrest citation, police said they were called to Brown's home in Shively for a shooting, but that house was cleared. Police said they talked to the 911 caller and Nichols. Nichols reportedly was heard on the call saying he shot Brown and dumped her body in the river. The report also states flock cameras show Nichols' car enter and leave Cox Park Saturday, Dec. 7.
After spotting the vehicle, a search warrant was executed on Nichols' car. He was arrested Wednesday after officers found suspected blood in his car.
Nichols is charged with murder and violating a domestic violence order. He is scheduled in court Thursday.
