LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Metro Police Department is looking for victims of a man who's accused of assaulting and stealing from several elderly people.

LMPD said in a social media post Wednesday that Anthony Williams was arrested Tuesday and has a history of "preying on elderly adults for personal gain."

Williams was arrested in 2023 and charged with robbery after he followed a 94-year-old World War II veteran home, assaulted him in his driveway and stole $800 from his wallet.

He told police that he noticed the man had a lot of cash in his wallet while behind him at a store. Williams already changed clothing and the car he was driving to try to evade police.

Williams was indicted for the crime in February 2024 and was out on a $10,000 full cash bond waiting a pre-trial hearing in January 2025.

On Tuesday, Williams was charged with crimes that targeted elderly victims in their homes.

Police said Williams would knock on the door and ask if someone needed any yard work done or anything else around the house. He would then steal tools, jewelry, cash or anything else when inside their homes.

Williams once stole a wedding band that belonged to a victim's deceased wife. He's also known to take the stolen items to pawn shops.

According to court documents, Williams told police during an interview that he's done this 20 times.

Williams once also used his 6-year-old daughter as an excuse to enter a home and asked for a cup of water for her. While his daughter was drinking the water, he entered a bedroom and stole $440 from a wallet.

Police believe there are more victims out there and would like to hear from those who've had something stolen by him.

Williams has been initially charged with knowing exploiting an adult, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, possession of firearm by convicted felon and possession of handgun by convicted felon.
