LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was arrested Tuesday morning in Shelby County on multiple charges after fleeing from police during a traffic stop and allegedly attacking a sheriff's deputy and breaking his arm.
Trevon Crittendon, 22, was driving a motorcycle without a headlights or taillights on Maplewood Drive, just off Shelbyville Road in Simpsonville, according to the arrest report.
Deputies attempted to stop Crittendon, when he ran away on foot. During the pursuit, a deputy fell to the ground while trying to take him into custody.
Crittendon continued to resist arrest and "feloniously assaulted" the deputy, stomping on his left arm and causing it to break, the citation said.
The 22-year-old continued on foot into his home on Maplewood Drive and out the back door, where he was met with more officers.
An officer deployed his taser on Crittendon and hit him in the leg, but it was not enough to stop him. He ran back into the home and attempted to barricade himself, where a family member tried to get him outside of the house with a baseball bat, according to the arrest report.
Crittendon was continually ordered to come outside by officers over a PA system. He surrendered after a short period of time and came outside, where he was arrested "without further incident."
The deputy showed "obvious disfigurement" to his left arm and was rushed to Baptist East Hospital by EMS.
The citation said the deputy was wearing his uniform, displaying his badge and was in a marked police vehicle with the words "sheriff" displayed on the side, all clearly identifying him as a deputy sheriff.
During the arrest, officers found a suboxone pill on Crittendon and learned he did not have a driver's license. He also told officers he ran from them because he had a warrant for his arrest out of Jefferson County.
He is being charged with assault of a police officer, wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing police, reckless driving and several other charges.
