LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after a crash Friday night near Iroquois Park.
Louisville Police responded a little before 10 p.m. on a report of a motor vehicle crash on New Cut Road near Orchard Hill Drive, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. That's by Iroquois Park and Kenwood Hill neighborhoods.
Ellis said a motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound New Cut Road when it hit the side of a SUV that was turning left onto northbound New Cut Road from Iroquois Park. The motorcyclist, a man, was ejected, Ellis said.
Ellis said EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead on scene. Ellis said the man was wearing a helmet.
An adult driver and passenger in the SUV, who were wearing their seatbelts, received injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening and were transported to UofL Hospital, alert and conscious, Ellis said.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating. A portion of New Cut Road will be closed as investigators reconstruct the scene.
