LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly shooting a person in the arm in downtown Louisville.
Dwight Mitchell, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said Jamia Wilson went to a person's home in the 900 block of W. Jefferson Street just after 4:30 a.m. after they had a previous fight.
According to police, Wilson sent threatening text messages and voicemails, then showed up to the location with a handgun.
Police said she fired at least one shot which grazed the victim's right bicep. The victim was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, Wilson admitted to officers that she waved the gun during a confrontation and claimed it discharged accidentally.
Police said the gun was found by a K-9 unit after Wilson threw it under a car before they arrived.
Wilson was arrested and charged with assault and tampering with physical evidence.
