LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested for intimidating voters in the Portland neighborhood on Tuesday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders said police responded to a polling location at Molly Leonard Portland Community Center on a disorderly person at 9:17 a.m. Police said Jacen Cockerell, 40, intimidated at least one voter and prevented them from voting.

According to court documents, Cockerell entered the voting area wielding a flag attached to a fishing pole and made threatening gestures. Cockerell played loud music and created a verbal disturbance within the voting area. 

Cockerell caused damage to a voting machine by ripping off the printer attached to the machine, according to police. Cockerell was arrested and booked at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

He was charged with two counts of menacing, one count of tampering, destruction of a voting machine and interfering with an election.
