LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A member on the Metro Council Civilian Review and Accountability Board could be removed from his seat.

Some councilmembers and members of the board want Charles Keyes out.

The board is a panel of 11 citizens that act as a layer of independent oversight. Guided by an inspector general, Ed Harness, the board attends meetings and reviews cases of alleged misconduct within LMPD.

It was created following the death of Breonna Taylor.

The board said Keyes hasn't shown up to a meeting since July 2022, and no one can get in contact with him.

The oversight board voted unanimously to remove him in April. Keyes was appointed by the council to a three-year term in 2021.

This week, Metro Council will take an official vote on whether to remove him.
