LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville has been named the top city for affordable vacations.

Livability.net, a national website that highlights more than 500 of America's best places to live, put Louisville in the top spot.

Cities were ranked by the quality and quantity of unique, free activities - both indoors and out.  It says rich history, modern culture, free attractions and deep discounts make Louisville a prime vacation destination for families.

The website says it picked Louisville for attractions like Churchill Downs, Louisville Slugger Museum, Actor's Theatre and the Speed Art Museum.
