LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The city of Louisville celebrated the grand opening Thursday of the Smoketown Community Center on East Breckenridge Street.

It'll serve kids and young adults ages 11 to 24.

The new center will house many different services like after-school and summer programs, job training and mental health counseling.

The center will also partner with the Kroger Mobile Market to provide fresh food to families and Norton's Mobile prevention center for health screenings.

"This will be a great change for the youth," said Iyana Martin, a student at Blueprint 502. "They will have somewhere safe to go, and I know that they will open them with open arms."

Blueprint 502 is behind the new community center.
