LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- No active shooter was found at the Kentucky Air National Guard located at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport Saturday morning after a report was made during an exercise scenario.
A spokesperson said during the course of an exercise involving a simulated active shooter, a report was made to the Base Operations Center of a "real-world active shooter engagement."
Base officials said it was an "erroneous report" due to the exercise but couldn't verify it.
Out of caution, Louisville Metro Police was contacted and the building in question is being cleared by Air Guard security forces.
There was no indication that this was a real event and no one was injured.
The base operations returned to normal at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
