LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An investigation is underway after fire gutted a home in the Russell neighborhood early Wednesday.Â
Crews from Louisville Fire & Rescue were sent to the 2300 block of West Chestnut Street at 7:53 a.m. after reports of a fire in a vacant two-story house. Firefighters arrived at the home within three minutes to find intense flames coming from the front of house.Â
Firefighters entered through the front and rear of the house, where the fire had spread. The home was searched for occupants but no one was inside.Â
It took 35 firefighters approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control using handheld hoses.Â
No one was injured in the fire. Arson investigators are working to determine the cause.Â
