LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Celebratory gunfire was an issue in Louisville on New Year's Eve with Louisville Metro Police saying there were 95 reported calls about shootings.
Near Crums Lane and Cane Run Road a woman was letting her dog out when she heard a loud "bang" before she felt pain in her shoulder.
Louisville Metro Police said it's likely she was grazed by a celebratory bullet.
His niece, Ashley Nixon, tells WDRB News, that her uncle is still swollen and sore, after the bullet lodged in his head.
"It was right after midnight New Year's Eve. He was crossing the street by his job. No event was going on in the area, just lots of celebration gun fire for the New Year throughout the city, which he was no where around," Nixon told WDRB.
She warns people that when you shoot guns in the air they have to land somewhere. She's thankful her uncle is going to be ok and says no arrest have been made.
She posted on Facebook about it.
