LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Designs for a new Oldham County Police headquarters are expected to be shared publicly this week.

Oldham County Judge Executive David Voegele said Oldham County Fiscal Court will hold a special meeting Tuesday to receive the initial recommendation from JKS Architects on a design for new headquarters.

The new headquarters would be in Crestwood at a property that previously housed OpenRange. Oldham County Fiscal Court purchased the former gun range and surrounding properties last year with the intention of building a new facility.

Voegele said Oldham County Police's current headquarters in Buckner is outdated and spread over three buildings.

"When the current headquarters in Buckner was opened in 1997, the county’s population was a little over 42,000 and the department had 18 officers," Voegele posted on Facebook. "The county's current population is over 70,000 and the department has 46 officers."

The meeting Tuesday is open to the public. It will also be broadcasted over the Oldham County Fiscal Court website.
