LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — More overnight ramp and lane closures are expected in Louisville this week as part of preparations for the shutdown of Interstate 65.
The I-65 Central Corridor Improvement Project will close a large stretch of the interstate between the Watterson Expressway and downtown Louisville to replace aging bridges along the interstate.
Drivers can expect the upcoming closures:
Monday, May 11; Tuesday, May 12; and Thursday, May 14: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night
- On-ramp from Crittenden Drive (KY 1631) to eastbound I-264 closed
- Off-ramp from eastbound I-264 to northbound and southbound I-65 (Exit 12) closed, including Fair/Expo Center Main Gate; Terminal Drive open east from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport
- Eastbound I-264 lane closure between Crittenden Drive (KY 1631 | milepoint 10.9) and the I-65 interchange (milepoint 11.9)
Tuesday, May 12 through Thursday, May 14: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night
- On-ramp from 1st Street (near the Chestnut Street intersection) to southbound I-65 (milepoint 135.3) closed
- Lane closures overnight on southbound I-65 between St. Catherine Street (Exit 135 | milepoint 135.2) and Arthur Street (Exit 134 | milepoint 134.4)
Wednesday, May 13: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Off-ramp from northbound I-65 (Exit 131-A) to eastbound I-264 closed
