LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As 2024 peaks into Louisville's horizon, the city is bracing for a big year-end celebration. And those parties, concerts, shows and more are happening all across the city.

Many of the events, like NYE Live! at 4th Street Live! or the J Wagner Group's NYE 502 party, are open to the public with tickets.

Joey Wagner with J Wagner Group said their party will feature food, drinks and live music at the Mellwood Arts Center in front of more than 1,000 people.

"Two big rooms, one big party at Mellwood," he said Tuesday. "We wanted to change it up, make it a special event and make it special for the city."

Other parties like this across the city are hopeful to attract guests too at places like Hotel Genevieve, the New Year's Bash on the Ohio River and at JD Shelburne's concert at the Mercury Ballroom, each place with its own twist on ringing in the new year.

"It's going to be a mixture of a concert and a party, so I'm really excited to do a New Year's Eve show," Shelburne said. "We're actually going to pipe in all the TV footage from Times Square right at midnight to give everybody a full concert and also see the ball drop in New York, as we all like to see."

Aside from the scheduled events and parties and concerts around town, many bars, restaurants and distilleries are opening their doors for celebrations. Flanagan's Ale House, Black Jockey's Lounge, Hilltop Tavern and West Sixth Brewing are just a few to name.

Plus, other celebrations, like the New Year's Bash Cruise on the Mary M. Miller riverboat, Fete De Noel at Paristown or Noon Years at the Kentucky Science Center offer experiences for everyone.

And this year will be one to remember.

"It's just a good event to come together as friends and family to celebrate the amazing things everybody did the year before and ring in 2024," Wagner said.
