LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A third person was arrested Saturday in connection with the April 3 shooting of a 16-year-old in Louisville’s Taylor Berry neighborhood.
Police said the victim arrived at Mary & Elizabeth Hospital just after 11 p.m. April 3 after being shot in the 1400 block of Arcade Avenue.
He was later taken to UofL Hospital and was expected to survive his injuries.
Police said a 16-year-old was arrested May 7 in connection with the shooting. The suspect was charged with assault and wanton endangerment.
In an update May 16, police said 20-year-old Deonte Bell was arrested on a warrant in connection with the shooting.
Police said Bell was charged with complicity to assault, complicity to wanton endangerment involving the discharge of a firearm and prohibited use of a firearm.
LMPD said Saturday that another 16-year-old was arrested and charged with assault and wanton endangerment in connection with the shooting.
Court documents state that Bell, another suspect, the victim and a witness planned to meet in a parking lot of an apartment complex on Arcade Avenue. When they met, police said either Bell or another suspect pulled a handgun and fired two rounds at the victim.
Police said the witness was in the driver’s seat and the victim was in the passenger seat.
