LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An Indiana man was arrested after police say he hid from them in a cornfield after a motorcycle pursuit early Friday morning.
Indiana State Police said a trooper on patrol in Kosciusko County clocked a motorcyclist going 26 mph over the posted speed limit. That's in northern Indiana, near Fort Wayne.
When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver slowed down, made a U-turn and sped off "at a high rate of speed," sparking a pursuit.Â
Police said the driver abandoned the motorcycle on the side of County Road 500 West near the intersection of County Road 900 South and fled on foot into a cornfield.
Using K-9 officers, the suspect, 53-year-old Franklin Seeley, of Claypool, Indiana, was found within the cornfield and taken into custody without further incident.
Seeley was charged with resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, resisting law enforcement and driving while suspended. He was being held at the Kosciusko County Jail, though online jail records indicate he is no longer in custody.
