LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died at the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle on Poplar Level Road early Monday.
An off-duty Louisville Metro Police officer found the victim around 8:40 a.m. on Poplar Level Road, near Illinois Avenue, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. That's between Audubon Parkway and Hess Lane.
Investigators determined the man was crossing Poplar Level Road from west to east when he was hit by a southbound vehicle in the right lane.
Police said the man was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. He was taken to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was pronounced dead a short time later.
The LMPD Traffic Unit will handle the investigation.
There were no injuries to the driver of the vehicle that hit the man.
No charges are expected.
