LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a police dog discovered a would-be burglar in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese's offices over the weekend.
Sgt. Steve Maron says the suspect was hiding beneath a desk in a second-story office Sunday afternoon. He says after the dog bit the suspect, the man surrendered.
An alarm alerted officials to a broken window, according to Archdiocese Chancellor Brian Reynolds. That brought police to investigate and find the man. Police say after they gave warnings to the man without receiving a response, they sent the dog in.
Paramedics took the man, identified as 30-year-old Bryan Brummett, to University Hospital for evaluation. He was later taken to jail.
Reynolds says the only other damage amounted to ransacked desk drawers in several offices.
