LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police arrested a man who fired a shotgun and struck a vehicle, but the man claimed he was aiming at something quite different: a raccoon.
According to an arrest report, officers were sent to the 8900 block of Cane Run Road, near Trade Port Drive, where they found Richard Hackemack. Police say Hackemack had shot a 20-guage shotgun across Cane Run Road and struck a vehicle.
A witness was standing next to the vehicle at the time of the incident, according to police.
After the incident Hackemack allegedly tried to hide the weapon, but it was discovered.
When confronted by police, Hackemack told them he was shooting at a raccoon.
He was arrested and charged with -- among other things -- wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
