LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Hemp-related bill that would keep THC out of the hands of young people is moving through the Indiana Statehouse this legislative session.

Senate Bill 250 would alter the state's definition of hemp to match the federal definition. It would also prohibit those under 21 from entering a building that mainly sells tobacco products and products containing THC.

Those under 21 would also be banned from buying hemp-based THC products.

One of the bill's authors said under the Farm Bill loophole, Delta 8 and THC products have become too easy for younger Hoosiers to obtain.

The bill passed the Senate and now heads to the House for a vote. If it passes the House, it will head to Gov. Mike Braun's desk for his signature to become law.
