LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A video posted by a snowboarder has gone viral - but some are questioning if it's even real.

In the video, snowboarder Kelly Murphy gets ready to head down the slopes in Winter Sports Park in Nagano, Japan.Ā

She sings a Rihanna song and then picks up her camera and begins snowboarding down the mountain.

A bear comes into the frame several times just above her right shoulder. It appears to be chasing her down the mountain.

The bear seems to keep going until finally getting tired and stopping along a ridge, watching the snowboarder move out of range.

Murphy claimed she did not know the bear was in the video until she looked back over it.Ā

Some on the internet are questioning whether the video is real or fake.

We did some checking. According to researchers who studyĀ Asiatic Black Bears in Japan, the bearsĀ hibernate between November to April or early May.Ā

Murphy posted the video on April 10 so there is a possibility a hungry bear emerged from hibernation....or not.Ā
